The Minnesota Secretary of State has released results from the Tuesday, Nov. 3 General Election.
The results will not be final until the government entity canvasses the results, which most offices are doing Friday, Nov.13.
In Waterville, Alan Schmidtke received 825 votes and will return as mayor. Incumbent city council members Jennifer Grobe (675 votes) and Tim Smith (644) votes were also re-elected.
In Elysian, incumbent Mayor Tom McBroom received 395 votes and will return to that office. Derek Westby (291 votes) and incumbent Bobby Houlihan (251) votes were elected to the Elysian City Council. Pat Nusbaum finished third in the balloting with 230 votes.
In Kilkenny, incumbent Mayor Cameron Hankins defeated Tammy Holicky, 49-26 to retain this office. Julie Balfe (48 votes), Terry Ferch (43), and Jason Baumgarten (42 votes) were elected to the city council. Michael Ream finished with 13 votes.
In Morristown, incumbent Mayor Tony Lindahl received 332 votes and will return to that office. Linda Murphy (297 votes) and incumbent council member Jake Golombeski (268 votes) were elected to a council position. Melanie Hopman finished third in this race with 247 votes. Ralph Barney received 167 votes to win the special election for council. Barney defeated Jacob Duncan (148 votes) and Robin Lee leavens (124 votes).
in the WEM School Board race, incumbents Jay Schneider (2,749 votes) and Jeff Stangler (2,654 votes) will return to office. The third board spot has not been determined. A total of 661 write-in votes were cast. Complete write-in totals will not be available until Nov. 14.
