Clara Julia Nohava, age 94, a lifelong resident of Lonsdale, MN, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2024, with family at her side. Clara was born on June 21, 1929, in Lonsdale, MN, to Emil and O'Tilla (Malecha) Vosejpka. She graduated from New Prague High School, was a member of many organizations including I.C. Church Choir for most of her life, the I.C.C.W. Rosary Society, Seasoned Choraliers, and a charter member of the Lonsdale American Legion Post 586.

Evelyn T. Simon, age 92, of New Prague, died peacefully with her family at her side, on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Mala Strana Health and Rehabilitation Center.  Evelyn was born on October 15, 1931, in Webster, Rice County, to Frank and Agnes (Trenda) Rezac. She graduated from New Prague High School and married John M. Simon on June 2, 1951, in Norfolk, VA. 
 John and Evelyn owned and operated Simon’s Bar but in addition, Evelyn worked as a nursing assistant at Queen of Peace Hospital and Mala Strana Nursing Home. 

Robert Herrmann was born to Ervin and Betty Herrmann on October 24, 1964. He departed this earthly life on Monday, January 22, 2024.

Joel Delbert Loose, age 64, of New Prague passed away at home on Thursday, February 1, 2024. Joel was preceded in death by his father, David Leonard Loose and sister Paula Jean Loose. He is survived by his wife Christine (Anderson) of New Prague, sons, David Loose of Minneapolis, MN and Braeden Loose of Hopkins, MN, daughter AnnaMarie Loose of Seattle, WA, mother Rosemarie Loose of Pipestone, MN, siblings Brian (Marine) Loose of Kaufman, TX,  Erin Hansen (Chuck) of Scottsdale, AZ, Neil Loose of Kaufman, TX and Angela Stephenson (Steve) of Wheaton, IL ; many nieces and nephews.

Francis “Fritz” Lambrecht, age 82, of rural Henderson, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center in Arlington. Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 9, at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. Fr. Chris Shoffner will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at church on Friday morning. Military Rites will immediately follow the service in front of the church, followed by a luncheon in the church social hall. Interment will be at a later date.

Marion E. Hadac, age 95, of New Prague, died peacefully, with her family at her side on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Mala Strana Health and Rehabilitation Center. Marion was born on November 26, 1928, in Webster Township, to Robert and Helen (Hruska) Havlicek. She attended New Prague Schools and married George R. Hadac on October 14, 1947, in New Prague.

At the young age of 60, our beloved Clarida "Lida" Carlos Pascual peacefully entered God’s kingdom on January 15, 2023, in Rochester, Minnesota, after valiantly battling numerous health issues.  She was a warrior throughout life and fought until the very end. She will be dearly missed and always remembered.

William Floyd “Bill” Hix, age 90, of Montgomery, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. with Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. all at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Sueur. Military Honors will be provided by the Montgomery area Military Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to your favorite Veterans organization.

Robert “Bob” Maurice Neisen of Webster, MN, passed away on January 26, 2024, in the loving care of his family at the age of 74. Bob was born on April 12, 1949, in New Prague to father Bert Neisen and mother Betty (Savage) Neisen, who predeceased him. Bob grew up in a large, loving family with 8 brothers and 4 sisters. He attended school in Belle Plaine, and after high school, enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country on the USS New Jersey until his Honorable Discharge.

Roslyn “Rose” Ida Savage, age 92, of Belle Plaine passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Michael Kaluza will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, January 29, 2024, at Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine.

Robert A. Janovsky (Bob), age 75, of Montgomery, died peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at home surrounded by loved ones. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 25 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Schoenbauer  Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 26, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with visitation one hour prior. Fr. George Grafsky officiating, burial will occur at Calvary with lunch and celebration of life following at the Montgomery Legion Club.

Eleanore B. “Ellie” Shambour, age 86, of New Prague, died peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at United Hospital in St. Paul.  Ellie was born on November 30, 1937, in Webster, MN to Joseph and Stella (McDonough) Leahy.  She attended country school and graduated from Northfield High School.  She married Leonard J. Shambour on August 28, 1956, at Annunciation Catholic Church in Hazelwood.  

Alice R. Schanus, age 86, of New Prague, died peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Praha Village.  Alice was born on September 3, 1937, in New Prague, to James J. and Mary (Kubes) Simon.  She grew up in the Veseli area, went to Holy Trinity Parochial School and graduated from New Prague High School.  She married Marvin M.

Roger J. Novotny, age 82, of Veseli, died Monday, January 15, 2024, after an extended illness at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital Mankato.  Roger was born on July 19, 1941, in New Prague to Joseph G. and Mary A. (Tupa) Novotny. He graduated from New Prague High School and started out his career at Lindsay Water Softener.  The majority of his life was spent at Metropolitan Mosquito Control.  Roger loved anything that had to do with nature and the outdoors.  In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He loved nature walks and feeding wildlife and birds.

Wilfred Heine died peacefully at his home on January 14, 2024, at the age of 91 years.
Wil was born on May 24, 1932, in New Prague.  His parents were William and Marie (Bohnsack) Heine.
Wil was baptized at Friedens Lutheran Church, New Prague, the church he attended his whole life. He attended New Prague Public Schools, graduating in 1950.
