Kalal, Elaine Mary, age 75 of Lakeville, passed away peacefully at her home March 9, 2019. Elaine was born on July 11, 1943 in Montgomery Township to Harold and Ludmilla (nee: Brezina) Kukacka. Elaine graduated from Montgomery High school and furthered her education in nursing school where she received her LPN. She married Francis KalaI on April 22, 1967 at Holy Redeemer Church in Montgomery. She then worked with Francis on the family farm. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, John Marek and Arnost Pavek; sister-in-law, Janet Kukacka.

Judith Ann Whipps, 81, of Le Center passed away at her home after a 3 year battle with ALS on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019. Visitation will be Saturday, March 9 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Le Center with services following at 2:30 p.m.
Judy was born on April 8, 1937, in Faribault to Clayton and Betty (Kotek) Janovsky. Judy was the 7th of 10 children. Judy attended St. Raphael’s Elementary School in Montgomery and graduated from Montgomery High School.

Pauline Lucy Krenik, 92, of Lonsdale, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at her son’s home in Lonsdale. Visitations will be held Monday, March 4 at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery from 5pm to 7pm and 1 hour prior to Mass. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague at 11am Tuesday, March 5 with Father Thomas Krenik officiating. 

Harry Tuma, 75, of Montgomery, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 19 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 a.m. with Father Victor Valencia officiating. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Lonsdale.
Harry was born on June 16, 1943, in Lonsdale to Emil and Emma (Smisek) Tuma. Harry attended Immaculate Conception School in Lonsdale and attended New Prague High School.

Patricia David, age 75 of Northfield, passed away Sunday morning, February 24, 2019, at Three Links Care Center.
Survived by include her children, Jodi (Cliff) Shoutz of Chaska, Mark (Cassandra) David of Dundas, Lori Vosejpka of Northfield; 10 grandchildren; her sister, Janice Borgstahl of Faribault; and her brother, Roger Carpenter of Faribault.
At Pat’s request, no service or visitation will be held.  She will be buried at Trebon Cemetery in Kilkenny. Cards for the family will be accepted at the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home. 

Irene Margie Zvanovec, 87, of Montgomery passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, at Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague on February 23, 2019. Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Friday, March 1 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Mass of Christian burial to follow at 11 a.m., with Father Victor Valencia officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

Ella R. Jahn, age 90, of New Prague, died peacefully on Friday, February 15, 2019, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Ella was born on November 21, 1928, in Lanesburgh Township, Le Sueur County, MN to Frank J. and Rose (Panek) Dietz. She attended country district school and graduated from New Prague High School. She married Harold C. Jahn on September 7, 1945, at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a lifelong resident of the Lanesburgh area, where she and her husband raised their four children and she whole-heartedly entered into farm life.

James “Chester” Retka, 85, of Montgomery, passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at his home in Montgomery. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 17, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, visitation one hour prior at the funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Lexington. Military Honors will be provided by the Montgomery area Honor Guard.

Kathleen Margaret Tiede, 73, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, at her home in Montgomery. Visitation will be Saturday, March 2 at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, with Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date.
Kathy was born on November 25, 1945, in St Peter to Claire and Frances (Simonette) Thomas. Kathy attended Cleveland High School.

Kucera, Robert C. , age 93 of Bloomington, MN, passed away peacefully January 30, 2019. Robert was born April 7, 1925 in Montgomery, Minnesota. He attended the Immaculate Conception High School in Lonsdale and then pursued undergraduate studies at the College of St. Thomas where he received degrees in business administration and economics in 1948.  Bob continued his education at the St. Paul College of Law graduating in 1952. He served three years in the U.S. Air Force during World War II including service in Guam and the Philippines.

Harry Dietz, age 96, of New Prague, died peacefully on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center. Harry was born on January 30, 1923 in Lanesburgh Township, Le Sueur County, Minnesota to Frank J. and Rose (Panek) Dietz. He graduated from New Prague High School. In his early years he worked at the mill in Montgomery and as a mechanic for Jimmy Rutt’s garage. He married Leota Busta on October 15, 1945. He spent his life as a farmer, who valued conservation of both the soil in his farming practices and wildlife.

Celeste T. Preble, 87, of Lonsdale, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Villages of Lonsdale. Visitation will be Friday, February 8 from 10am to 11am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Mass of Christian Burial following at 11am with Father Victor Valencia officiating. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Moments Hospice.

Terrance Francis David, Sr., 78, of Montgomery, passed away on Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at his home. 
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 29 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery with funeral services following at noon also at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Montgomery in spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials donated to a children’s charity of their preference.

Gladys D. Beinhorn, age 81, of New Prague, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday January 15, 2019 at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine.  Gladys was born March 13, 1937 in New Prague to Erwin H.

Lucille Heyda, 90, of Shakopee, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019.
Lucille was born on June 11, 1928, in Montgomery, MN, the daughter of Rudolph and Christina (Holey) Shetka. Her husband was William Heyda, Sr.
The things Lucille enjoyed most were gardening and canning the fruits and vegetables that she nurtured through the summer months. She loved cooking and collecting recipes.

Rose Adeline (Dietz) Washa, 104, of Le Center, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at her home in Le Center. Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 12 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with funeral service following at 11 a.m. also with Father Chris Shofner officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
Rose was born on December 18, 1914, in Montgomery to August and Rose (Kriha) Dietz. She was a Montgomery High School graduate. Rose was united in marriage to Nathan Henry Washa on November, 12, 1934 in Montgomery.
