Sandra M. (Skluzacek) Tuma, born January 18, 1955, and formerly of Lonsdale, passed away March 16 after a hard fought battle against cancer. Preceded in death by her father Rudolph, she is survived by her mother Arlene of Lonsdale, her son Chad (Julie), daughter Amber (Chris) Gehrke and son Dustin (Leanna) and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Sharon (Ken) and Laure (Mike) and brothers Lyle (Sandi), Brian (Angie), Bruce (Lisa) and Eric (Bobbie).

Helen Drentlaw, age 98, of Montgomery, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m., all at Most Holy Redeemer Church in Montgomery. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

Archie Daleiden, age 92, of New Ulm died Saturday, March 9, 2024, at his home in New Ulm.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
A visitation will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH chapel in New Ulm.

Milo Studnicka Sr., age 83, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Visitation was held on Monday, March 11 from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, March 12 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Niehaus officiating. Interment will be held in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Montgomery.

Patricia Lois Filipek passed away on March 2, 2024, at the age of 80, at Three Links in Northfield.  A private family burial will be held. 

Jean Marie Waugh, age 76, of Waterville, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Mayo Systems Hospital in Mankato. Services are pending.
Jean was born on June 25, 1947, in New Prague to William and Irene E. (Maxa) Kubik. She was a graduate of New Prague High School and received an Associate’s degree for Drug Counseling at Angelina College in Lufkin, TX. She enjoyed playing bells at her church, needlework embroidery, crocheting, puzzles and word puzzles, visiting with others, and her pets. She was a member and a leader of TOPS.

James Donald Hlavac, 57, of Farmington, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at his home. Visitation will be Saturday, February 24, from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. with Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. all held at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Fr. Tom Niehaus officiating. 

Dorothy Jean Ruth Pumper-Filipek, age 95, of Le Center, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024. A private family graveside service was held.

Dorothy Jean Ruth Pumper-Filipek was born October 9, 1928, in Montgomery, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Elmer and Anna (Wondra) Moll. Dorothy was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth both in Montgomery, Minnesota. She received her education in Montgomery and graduated with the Montgomery High School class of 1946.

Edmund George Dorweiler, age 85, of Montgomery, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024, at his home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 20, from 9-11 a.m. with funeral at 11 a.m. all held at the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery area Honor Guard. Luncheon/refreshments in the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church social hall.

Marion E. Hadac, age 95, of New Prague, died peacefully, with her family at her side on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Mala Strana Health and Rehabilitation Center. Marion was born on November 26, 1928, in Webster Township, to Robert and Helen (Hruska) Havlicek. She attended New Prague Schools and married George R. Hadac on October 14, 1947, in New Prague.

William Floyd “Bill” Hix, age 90, of Montgomery, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. with Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. all at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Sueur. Military Honors will be provided by the Montgomery area Military Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to your favorite Veterans organization.

Robert A. Janovsky (Bob), age 75, of Montgomery, died peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at home surrounded by loved ones. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 25 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Schoenbauer  Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 26, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with visitation one hour prior. Fr. George Grafsky officiating, burial will occur at Calvary with lunch and celebration of life following at the Montgomery Legion Club.

In loving memory of Rose Mary (Miska) Franta, age 85, who peacefully embarked on her final journey, reuniting with her beloved husband Scott on January 17, 2024. Born on August 22, 1938, in New Prague, Rosie's roots ran deep on the family farm near Saint Thomas where she blossomed into the remarkable woman we all knew.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 11:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, all at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Father Tom Niehaus officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery, MN.

On December 26, 2023, Sandra Ann (Jakes) Sticha, 71, passed away at her home in Florida.  Sandy was born September 8, 1952, in New Prague, Minnesota, to Marvin and Irene (Spoor) Jakes.
Sandy is survived by her two children; Daniel (Roni) Jakes of Florida and Jill (Katie Bastyr) Sticha of Montgomery, MN.  Sandy has four grandchildren, Cora, Jeremiah, Danielle, and Joshua and 8 (soon 9) great-grandchildren. 

Diana Mary Turek, age 65, of Montgomery, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Prayer service will follow at 2:00 p.m all at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery, MN.
