Ruth a Dahl, age 91 of Waterville passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at her home.

Born on January 23, 1927 in Elysian Township, Le Sueur County, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Edgar and Adelia (Roemhildt) Morsching.  Ruth was married to Ray Jahn and she later married Ernie Dahl.

David Phillip Berg, age 89, died on Saturday, May 19, 2018, in Tucson, Arizona from injuries sustained in a fall.

Elizabeth Alice (Currer) Wolf, age 100 of Faribault, MN passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at her home at Milestone Senior Living.

John Norbert Wilcox, age 73, of Centerville, Massachusetts, passed away on May 2, 2018.  John was born on February 7, 1945 to Irene and Norbert “Bud” Wilcox in Faribault, Minnesota. He grew up in Elysian, Minnesota and worked with his dad and brother Allan Wilcox in the family newspapers in Elysian and Waterville. After graduating from Mankato State University, John continued his newspaper career working for the Mankato Free Press.

Jon E. Broadbent, age 73 of Stapleton, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at Great Plains Health in North Platte. He was born May 13, 1944 in Waseca, MN to Earl George and Luella May (Schnoor) Broadbent. He graduated from High School in Minnesota and later served in the United States Navy and served as a Naval Chief. Jon also served in school administration at Red Cloud, Loup City, Venango, Wauneta, Maxwell, and most recently in Stapleton.

Ardis D. Kabes, age 87, of Waterville, died on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Janesville Nursing Home.  Graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Morristown on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 10 a.m. with the Reverend David Mumme officiating. Arrangements are being completed by the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.
 

Delbert M. Velzke, age 85, of Owatonna, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018 surrounded by his family at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis. Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Morristown on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Travis J. Loeslie officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Morristown with military rites provided by the American Legion Post #149, Morristown. Visitation will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Morristown on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Arlene Beverly Houlihan of Decorah, Iowa, died peacefully at the Aase Haugen Senior Services on March 30, 2018. She was 86 years old. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Decorah with Rev. Phil Gibbs officiating. Burial was in St. Benedict Cemetery in Decorah. Visitation begian at 9 a.m.

Ardis D. Kabes, age 87, of Waterville, died on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Janesville Nursing Home.

Cindy Joy Lindahl, age 51, of Janesville, lost her battle with colon cancer on Friday, April 20, 2018 at her parent’s home. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 415 Lake St. W., Waterville on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 10 a.m. with the Reverend David Mumme officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Morristown. Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. and also at the church for one hour prior to the services on Tuesday.

Ronald William Boyd, age 56 of Waterville, died on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato. Born in Waseca on September 14, 1961, Ronald was the son of Marlin and Sharon (Lau) Boyd.  As a young man he attended school in Waterville.  Ronald worked in various jobs over the years including manufacturing and property management.  He also served in the United States Army Reserves.  He enjoyed fishing, working outside, and working with computers.

Darlene May Owens age 85, of Audubon, MN went home to be with Jesus on April 2, 2018 under the care of the Red River Valley Hospice at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Jerome Edward Janda, age 88 formerly of Waterville, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Trinity Care Center in Farmington. Born on November 8, 1929 in Waterville, Minnesota, he was the son of Emil and Christine (Schwartz) Janda.  Jerome grew up on the farm in Waterville and graduated from Waterville High School.  He retired from Minnegasco where he worked as a home and commercial technician.  He served in the MN National Guard as a company clerk.   Jerome married Nellie Jane Pletcher on October 8, 1955 in Barnesville and they celebrated 56 years of marriage.  Jerome was a member of

Joette L. Bliss, age 61 of Waterville, died on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Pleasant Manor in Faribault. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on June 28, 1956, Joette was the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Jennings) Kirk. She graduated from Simley High School in 1974. Following her graduation, she married her best friend, Martin "Marty" Bliss Sr. Due to the fact Marty enlisted in the Air Force, they found themselves in Grand Forks, ND. After his discharge from the military, they moved to Vermillion, MN for the next 15 years before moving to Waterville for the last 18.
