Many families came by Elko New Market Fire Department’s Open House Sunday morning, Oct. 25, where children could learn about safety and get some treats.

“We had a larger turnout this year,” said Jodi Muelken, president of the Elko New Market Fire Department's Fire Relief Association. She estimated the crowd between 300-350 people. On Facebook, Muelken said the fire department was excited to open its doors to the public and welcome everyone.
