Rita Kay Grubish, 65

Rita Kay Grubish, age 65 of Waterville, passed away at her home on the morning of Saturday, January 16, 2021 following a difficult battle with cancer.

Born in Faribault on November 24, 1955, Rita was the daughter of Donald and Catherine (Henderscheidt) Schwartz. After graduating from Waterville-Elysian High School she continued her education at the St. Cloud Business College. Rita was married to James Charles Grubish on July 30, 1988 in Waterville. She worked for many years at Brown Printing/Quad Graphics, and she will be missed by her many friends there. Rita was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville where she was active in the Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening, camping, boat rides, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, cleaning, following the Minnesota Vikings, and spending time with her many family and friends.

Rita is survived by her husband, Jim of Waterville; her son, Cristian Grubish of Waterville; three sisters, Sharon (Doug) Scharfe of Waterville, Kathleen (Michael) Doyle of New Prague, and Janice (John) Wesley of Waterville; and many nieces; nephews; and other family. She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Waterville Chapel of Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville, with Fr. Michael Ince officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society. dennisfuneralhomes.com
