Tennis team advances to Section Quarter finals

The Tri-City United Tennis Team advanced in the Section 2A Preliminary Round after beating Redwood Valley 6-1 in Le Center on Tuesday, Oct. 3.

The Titans will play in the Section Quarterfinals at No. 1 Seed St. Peter on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 4 p.m.
The tennis Titans won all of their sets in singles and doubles play except for No. 4 singles. Coach Phil Murry said the girls played hard, and the results showed it.

“We played very well today. Even the one we lost, we battled back and took her to the limit in the third set. This was Thea Tietz's first ever singles match at the varsity level,” he said. “Our doubles really played well together. We took advantage of everything they left out of the net. I am looking forward to playing St. Peter again. We lost early in the season but were very competitive in many of the matches.”
