Students participate in National School Walkout
A small group of students from Tri-City United High School joined thousands of students in a nationwide demonstration on Wednesday, March 14 in protest of gun violence, one month after a gunman killed 17 people at a high school in Florida. The 17-minute walkout (one minute for each of the victims) is intended to pressure Congress and local legislators to approve gun control legislation after the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. The TCU students respectfully gathered around the school’s flagpole, and at the end of the walkout encouraged one another to support their peers.
