Man tries to lure kids to car

Eagle Lake Police reported that a suspicious person tried to lure kids to a car and ordered one child to get into the vehicle, last week.

According to information provided by Eagle Lake Police Chief John Kopp, the police department took a report of a suspicious vehicle and a handful of coins being thrown in front of four kids on Wednesday, November 8, in front of the fire hall on Parkway.

Two of the same students reported contact with the same vehicle the following morning, November 9. One of the students reported that the vehicle followed behind him very slowly on Parkway. The other student reported that the vehicle stopped, dropped cash, and ordered the student to get into his vehicle. The student also reported the suspicious person was wearing a suit, tie, and a mask.

According to a crime alert issued by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension on Thursday, November 9, the vehicle is described as a red, four-door car with a little rust on the back rear. It was described as either a Toyota or a Honda with the red color being like the red on an American flag, but darker. The vehicle may have Texas license plates, possibly starting with the letters GHX.

The individual was described as possibly being a white male with blonde hair.
