Jolene Edith Hagel, 89

Jolene Edith Hagel, age 89 of Waterville, died on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Pleasant Manor in Faribault. Born on December 24, 1928 in Le Sueur County, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Charles and Irene (Leischer) Peach. She attended school  in rural Le Sueur County.  Jolene married Reinhold Hagel on January  31, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church-North Morristown.  Together they lived and farmed in rural Waterville. She also worked as custodian at the WEM schools for 10 years.  Jolene enjoyed gardening, canning, growing flowers, feeding the birds and squirrels, reading, and driving the John Deere tractor.  She also enjoyed listening to books on tape after her blindness.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church-North Morristown. She is survived by one daughter, Cindy and her husband Vern Krienke of Waterville; one brother, Donald (Florence) Peach of Waterville; sister-in-law, Marian Hagel of Faribault and several nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by her good friends at Pleasant Manor.  Jolene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reinhold; son, Michael; and two sisters, Dolores Miller and Bessie Zellmer. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church - North Morristown. Visitation was held on Wednesday, one hour before services at the church. Burial followed at Concordia Cemetery. Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services of Waterville handled the arrangements.
