An ‘exhilarating’ evening of bingo!

While temperatures were around four degrees below zero on Thursday, Jan. 4, that didn’t stop 150 people from gathering at the New Prague Golf Club for the first night of Chamber Bar Bingo.

Deb Kalousek, executive director of the New Prague Chamber of Commerce, said the crowd exceeded expectations for their first night. Chamber Bar Bingo goes on for a total of 12 Thursday nights this winter. Each evening has a sponsor and a theme. Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague was the sponsor of the first night. Area businesses from insurance to a pet store to auto dealerships to liquor establishments are represented.

Kalousek said the money raised during the bingo games will be used to support any non-profit group or organization in the area, that submits a request to the Chamber.

On January 4, Dennis Tietz called out the numbers and letters. He was the first of this year’s guest callers that will be helping at the Chamber Bar Bingo. Each caller will represent that evening’s business. Kalousek noted the original guest caller for Mayo was unable to attend. Tietz filled in as his wife, Heather Tietz, is employed by Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague and she is also member of the Chamber Board.

With the theme New Prague Night many people came out sporting....
